Making the world greener one theft at a time

So get this, Steve and I went to Costco in St. Louis Park and put his totes in the cart. At some point, we both stepped away from the cart. Someone took that chance and took both totes out of the cart. Can you believe it? What is this world coming to?

I decided to make the bags even better than the stolen totes. Steve and I went to Crafty Planet for our fabric. Here is a link to their website. www.craftyplanet.com They have such cute fabric. I normally sandwich canvas between two fabrics to make the totes very sturdy. I decided to try and make the totes a little lighter. I used decorator weight for the lining of each tote. As you can see in the pic, Crafty Planet had some fun fabrics to use for this. I think both totes are cute, but I love the ladybugs. Steve likes the sock monkeys. What do you think?

What a bummer to have your totes stolen!! It's going to be easy to spot the thief if s/he hangs around Costco in future.

I love your replacement totes, however!

Sorry to hear about your totes being stolen. I hope your wallet wasn't though. I love your new totes and I do like the ladybugs. But I'm partial to the monkey's because that was the first thing I ever made when I was a little girl, a sock monkey, and I loved it to death. I didn't know they had it in fabric though. So cool. Fabric looks as amazing as patterned paper now.
I hope you're happier with these new totes and that they don't disappear again. They really are cute.

Hello, I'm a friend of Julie Carter's and she's showed me some of your quilts. They are gorgeous.

I like the ladybug tote (I'm terrified of monkeys, even sock monkeys). Sorry to hear your bags were stolen, that's awful.

Your totes are cute. Sorry to hear the previous ones were stolen. Can you tell me where I can find the pattern for them? Always nice to see a male quilter. Have you checked out http://www.quiltdad.blogspot.com. I say come on men!!
